Firewire to SCSI converter

I have a few Magneto Optical drives with many (>100) cartridges that I would still like to use. Basically because I trust MO will keep the data much more than CD or DVDs. I use it a few times a week. I also have an older LaCie Silver Scanner that I probably use once a month. I want to be able to use them both from my Mac Mini, and completely pack away my older Power Computing machine which is currently talking to them.

I know there are Firewire SCSI adapters. Does anyone have any experience with Pinnacle (or other brand) MO, and scanners, using any Firewire SCSI adaptes which are currently on the market. Also, I would prefer if it had a female DB25 SCSI connector on it, because I have plenty of cables for that. Most of them I see now have this compact adapter which would cost me another $20 for a DB25 to HD50 connector.

Thanks for looking.
