I have a macbook purchased in june 2006 so i'm assuming is a 1,1. I was installing a firmware update and accidentally turned it off half way through. I have downloaded firmware restoration images for this model and also for the 2,1 (cd's 13 + 14) and tried using both but it has not worked. The instructions say you should see the sleep light doing quick flashes followed by slow and then quick when you hold down the power button and this is when you should insert the cd, but my macbook only has a short burst of quick flashes and then just a continuous light, followed by the long noise you are supposed to hear. I inserted both cd's at different times, but all that happens is the computer takes it in and makes lots of noises like its trying to do something and then just goes dead pretty much. I have left it for a substantial amount of time before taking the cd out and turning it off.
Any ideas?
