And I'm very, very happy about this. :) :) :)

Finally I'm back at being a PowerBook user (ever since I've sold my TiBook 500 and had the iBook 12" G3/800). Ah, how good it feels. :)

Anyone else already using one of the newest? Any troubles?

well, of course the screen is larger and gives more space overall. also, the speed is quite noticeable, so that's good, too. I also liking having _internal_ bluetooth instead of a bt-usb-stick.

it's larger and heavier, too, of course. and i still have to test its speed by working in the Adobe CS Suite (I've only opened a few documents with it so far) as well as the battery life.

but I'm impressed.

So you don't know about the battery vs the iBook yet?
And I expect it would turn out the same as the iBook 14" weight-wise. If the battery is as good as the iBook, I'll be very mad ;).

maybe this thread should be moved to the cafe or somethin.

i dont think mods are anythin diff. than simple users. congrats on ur new buy...
not really imporant though :)

I've changed the title of the thread by now, though... Also: The Café is for things NON-Apple, while this forum also incorporates the old Apple General forum, that's why I didn't put it to the Café...

Just a question: why didn't you take the 1.5 GHz PB? Are you still upgrading every year?

fryke i think its much better now :)

i got a 12 inch powerbook..... but the 17 inch will allways be my love:p

Nice one Fryke, for me it was a toss-up between a 15" PowerBook or a G5... Personally being tied to a desk never really bothered me, so i went the route of the desktop. Some Pics would be cool tho if you got time... :)

Nice!

I might take some pix later, yes.

Why I didn't take the 1.5 GHz version?

a) I don't need the SuperDrive, because I've got one in the PC and also have a DVD-recorder for my home cinema.

b) I'm a fast/blind typer and don't need the backlit keyboard.

I could certainly always use a faster processor, but I thought I could very well keep the extra money on this one.

I'm not upgrading every year, though. I did that in the "olde days", but my first TiBook 500 did well for over two years, and so did my iBook G3/800. I _must_ say, though, that this step now to the 1.33 GHz PowerBook was a very big one. It's soooo much better to work in Adobe CS now than before, that I probably won't ever go back to an iBook. I'd rather save some more money and keep this one. But that's future talk. For the next 1-2 years, I guess, I'm set. ;-)

I just bought a powerbook 12' from apple store, will have it in a couple of days :)
will buy more ram from a third part provider though.
