Force screen resolution <640X480

I've recently been trying to play a game i used to run on a mac plus, it keeps saying i need to set resolution 520X218 (or similar), & probably have to be in black & white also. Do i have to run some kind of mac plus (68xxx) emulator? or is there an app or xml hack out there so as to reduce screen res less than the Display control panel minimum.??
This has been troubling me for some time.
maybe in Classic/OS 9 there is a method?

I think resolutions must be supported by your particular graphics card in order to be used. Not quite sure, though. Can't help with that.

However, since you mentioned emulating an old Mac... yup! It's possible... Once you get it working, tell us how the game runs...
