forcing Epson to print

my Epson D78 refuses to print if even one of the 4 cartridges appears to be low. it spazzes out and won't even let me take responsiblity for a rubbish print. all i need is a quick B+W print, but because there's no yellow, no print.

does any one know a way to force epson printers to print?

i've tried fiddling with the cartridges, and also sending it to print as black only...
