Free Digicam!!!

I just inherited a digital camera from a friend who is leaving Egypt. Thanks Dennis. The camera is fine for the kids, an HP Photosmart 215, 1.3 mpi with 2x digital.

The problem is it may be the only photosmart that does not support os X.

I don't have a universal card reader, they aren't available here, so I wonder if there's a work-around to let me get the pics off the camera. It works with XP so I can do it that way, but I usually want to dump the pics on a weekend and the XP is at work.

Any ideas???

Well at least one laughed at the spammer joke.

(*edit: There's no free lunch*)

I have tried to connect but iPhoto does'nt do it. I'll try the ioexpert driver and post results

I learned a bit about how the whole compatibility thing works, what would have been an extension in pre-X is now an application located in the support library for different apps. That gives hope that some genious has already solved my problem, but alas, it was not the guys at IOXpert. My 215 still doesn't show up in iPhoto or image capture.

The IOXpert website explains how to remove the driver, but their explaination doesn't work either.

How does one represent a space in a path name in terminal? I just paged through in column view and removed the driver through the gui, but would like to know how to do it in terminal.

Space in terminal: backslash+space. Any character that has special meaning to your shell can be put on the command line as a literal if it is preceeded by a backslash. Backslash itself thus becomes "\\" (without the quotes of course).
