Who would you propose for free website hosting ?

I liked geocities a few years ago, but ftp is not free anymore. I tried prohosting, but I have connection problems. Any better idea ?

It's no professional web site, just my son trying to build something with a few friends.

just html... he has a team to play some on-line games and he needs a "home" where he can put some friends' pictures and the history of their team. No need to be static.
