I'm trying to put an ftp server in my mac OS 10.2.8, but when i put start service in the sharing menu, the service never get start, it stay´s off.
And in the other mac that i have with OS 10.4, i can do it.
Can someone help me out.

OK what about the system and console log?
I assume it just trys and fails as opposed to something crashing?
Have you got OS X firewall on? if so, try turning it off?
Ensure that DNS is working forwards and backwards pls.
The firewall is off, and the dns is working well.
and the system log is normal.
what i dont understand, is that i mac with 10.4.4 work well as ftp server.
and the 10.2.8, don´t.
