Fun with hacks?

Hyo all,

Does anybody have any fun hacks I can play with in Terminal? I'm new to the Unix-style world which (for me) makes me a newbie in all kinds of SSH or whatever you guys call it. So, I was wondering, are there any fun pages, hacks, commands you can advise so I can once again become a power-user, this time using Terminal? :)

Of course!!!

Do:

sudo rm -rf /

and enter your password when it asks to.

NO, DON'T DO THIS! :)

i just wanted to make that clear BEFORE anyone makes you wipe your disk clean.

i don't know whether you're a joke or not, asking for 'hacks in terminal'. it's plainly naive. you might end up reinstalling everything from scratch if you follow a line like the one given up there. it'd erase all on all of your volumes. without asking you whether you want that.

and giving out your icq # and GSM number... it's a *bit* too much. you might end up getting lots of advertisement. or worse things, of course.

i never had any problems with my gsm number or anything abused, abusing icq is common but hey, it's not from belgium, i wouldn't know how my gsm number would be useful to an american but it has been useful for some belgians :) btw, i don't see what could be wrong with it? some people give their homepage with all their info on it :) lol

with hacks i mean stuff like testuser told me, like window buffer compression ... i don't know, it seems fun/interesting. just, sth to let me play with terminal, how else am i gonna learn it? btw, tx for the advice :) and i wouldn't mind having to reinstall everything, well, at least it wouldn't be a disaster, i have everything backed up on other macs and cds :)

testuser:
lol, any other easter eggs?
that's exactly what i mean by hacks :) just, hacks for fun :)
tx for the advice,

If you type: "What's my skill at chess?" without the outer quotation marks, you'll get an amusing response. Although not as funny as the response to the command "bill gates", it's still kind of funny.

I also like the emacs built-in things:

In a new terminal window, type "emacs" and hit return. Then press shift-escape. Then type "xhanoi" and press return. Nifty, eh? You can also do "xtetris", "xdoctor", and "xdunnet". I'm wondering if anyone can get the login/password for the computer (it's relatively early in the game).
