I bought a G3 blue and white for my son in college we installed Panther and everything was fine. He goes to school and says the computer will not start up the Mac logo and a folder shows up and that's it. Does that mean that it's tring to find the software, It has only a 6GB hard drive. I'm not sure if it's maxed out or what

If the folder has a question mark on it, then yes, the G3 is trying to find a bootable system folder. If this is the case, have your son turn off the G3. Restart the computer while holding down the option key. This should bring you to a screen to select the HD as the bootable drive.

These are some other start up options.

Thanks, its seems that tha ribbon from the hard drive came off from the board causing it not to boot up
