I seem to be experiencing a bit of a laptop display problem. Recently, literally last week, my laptop\'s screen started to flicker. Now at first I thought it was from the new Mighty Mouse, that maybe I was pressing some buttons without my knowledge. But now it seems to happen (the flickering) when I\'m typing and very randomly. So would this be a sign of a bad Inverter board when it\'s related to when the keyboard is typed on primarily? It has actually gotten to the point where the display goes so dim that it looks as though it\'s black but the display can be faintly seen in the background.
I don\'t believe it\'s the hard drive because it\'s been verified by the S.M.A.R.T. status and hasn\'t caused any trouble. I don\'t think it\'s the logic board either, but I have read that the inverter board can cause exactly this type of problem. What worries me now is if this is the display cable or not. I don\'t believe it is because then the display itself would be totally invisible, not just problems with the brightness. So can anyone reassure me here that ordering a new inverter board is the correct step to take? I can\'t waste any money (mainly because I have none). Thanks!
