G4 Imac 700, firewire dvdrw and idvd

i wanted to know if i got a this dvd rw drive... http://www.macmall.com/macmall/shop/detail.asp?dpno=970410

and hooked it up to firewire on an imac 700 if it would work with idvd cause idvd is soooo much better then anything else out.

To be the best of my knowledge, there hasn't been an external DVD burner that works with iDVD in OSX. That is until now, where at OWC you can purchase one that has been tested to work.

It is the same price as the one you have linked, and this one is specifically noted as being fully compatible with Apple Mac OS X, iTunes 3, iDVD 2.1 and DVD Studio Pro 1.5
