G4 Logic Board replacement?

My friend just got his Dad's old 450mhz G4. He says the logic board is screwed or something and he needs to replace it. Now how much would this run my friend and can anyone make any reccomendations on places to order it from? Also, whats the highest processor upgrade he can get? Thanks a ton.

First make sure it is the board that is bad. Try starting it up. What happens? What do you get sound wise or on the screen? Try starting it with an OS CD - holding down the C key. Does it start up? If yes, does the hard drive icon show?
