G4 (mirrored door) Noisy Fans in OS 9.2.2

The cooling fans in my dual 1GHz G4 run normally while running in OS 10.2. It is my understanding that the OS has software that controls the fan speed and it does work!

Start up in OS 9.2.2 and the machine acts like it's out of control! There is no control of the fan speed, so it constantly revs up and down. Needless to say, it's annoying.

Why would I want to run in OS 9.2.2? Well, for now I have an older WACOM tablet which works in OS 9.x but not in 10.x. Eventually, I plan to have a new tablet, but it's not an option yet.

So... my questions are:

Are a lot of you readers experiencing the same thing?
Have you contacted Apple about it?
Do you know if any software is available to control the fans while running in OS 9.x?

This is good news...

I called Apple and found a way to stop the 'turbo-fan' problem in OS 9.2.2

Do the following:

1. Shut down
2. Restart while holding down the (Option-Command-f-o) keys.
3. A prompt will tell you to let go of the keys
4. Type the following: reset-all
5. Hit return (the computer will restart)
6. Choose OS 9.2 as the Startup Disk
7. Restart

What you're doing is resetting the firmware with the above operation.

The fans will still fluctuate a little, compared to running in OS 10.2, but it's far better than the extreme turbo effect.
