My friend has a 20" G5 Imac and is thinking about getting a second display, what he wants to know is can he attached the second display and use the second screen as an 'extended display', will it be like within Windows so when he pulls a window or application to the right hand side of screen 1 it will appear on screen 2, I have never tried it with a mac.

Hope this makes sense guys.

Thanks in advance.

Paul :)

Yeah, it's called desktop extending. Truth be told, this feature has been on the Mac since the early days of the Macintosh. Unfortunately, this particular iMac only supports mirroring (like when you want to display out to a projector). Only the professional Mac models have had this ability until recently. I have the 17" model of the iMac G5 that came out in May of last year so I'm also out of luck in that respect. However, I believe that the new Intel models do support the ability to extend the desktop.
