1.8 GHz powerpc G5, 1.25 GB SDRAM, osx 10.3.9
having major problems with the computer cutting off completely during use. I have had the computer serviced twice now and am having to take it in a 3rd time after only having it back for a week.
The problem occurs very sporatically and often, the computer screen goes black and the system shuts down sometimes once every 15 min, sometimes 3 times in 5 min. all you have to do to get the screen back is click the mouse. Its almost like the sleep/ power saver option has a mind of its own? but when this happens usually the fan revs up ( the fan is constantly loud, louder than normal)
so the first time it was fixed mac certified technicians said it was a power supply prob
the 2nd time they reseated my logic board and supposedly updated my osx but it still reads the previous 10.3.9, and said they couldnt find anything wrong with the fan to explain its loudness
Can anyone help I am fed up and feel like I have a 1700 $ machine that Ill never be able to use aggghhhhh!
