G5 No Start No Chime

I have a G5 1.6Ghz Desktop. I tried to start up recently. The little white light comes on and the fan starts up. Nothing else. One indicator I know about is that I get no chime at all. Any ideas what I can do to find out what the real problem is?

Connect up a pair of headphones if you have them and boot your mac and listen if you can hear the Startup Chime ...

If you have the install disc you could boot from that, hold 'C' just after you press the power button and see if your Mac will start up with the chime ...

Try resetting your Macs PRAM. Here's a link on how to do this:

If you do succeed in booting your Mac then go to "About This Mac", which you'll find in the drop-down menu when you click on the Blue Apple icon . Then when the little window opens, click on 'More Info' and then System Profiler will launch. In the left column, click on Diagnostics and look to the right side for any info that may explain the absence of the chime.
