G5 Powermac won't see card reader

I have a SD 16gb card that contains .mts files from my Canon S100 Hd camcorder. My card reader which is years old does see it in my PC but not on my Dual G5. I plugged it into the front usb slot and back one.. My mac does not see it. I tried the keyboard but it says it is too low power to use from there. How do I get the G5 to see it?

Does the device not appear in Disk Utility either? Will it mount a smaller SD card?

Does not see it at all. How can a simple card reader be dependent on Pc or Mac to see it - Odd

What make/model is it? Rare possibility is a driver issue.

It is really old - It says Apacer on it.
I think I will go buy a Sandisk one or Lexar one.
