An unwanted gray line is being introduced at the bottom of some grayscale png files when I batch convert them from 256 to 32768 colors (for the ultimate purpose of achieving anti-aliased reductions) using Graphic Converter v6.4 I386 on a Macbook Pro running Mac OS X (10.5.7).
This gray line does not appear when I do the same color conversion one png at a time. It does appear when I use Convert and Modify.
I have posted an example at:
http://www.lhs78.org/bowron/png_samples.html
The top graphic shows the gray line, the middle graphic is the grayscale original, and the bottom graphic was converted to 32768 colors manually (without using Convert and Modify).
This line is unacceptable. Since I have over 16,000 of these png's to reduce, I need to find out what's causing the gray line and hopefully find a fix.
