Im thinking about getting one of these for my brother because he only has a radio/tape deck in his car. Does anyone have one and know how it sounds? I've been trying to find a store with an example one but no luck.

I did quite a bit of research on the iTrip before ordering one. I read many reviews of the iTrip and its competitors (e.g. the Belkin version). The iTrip seemed to be the hands down winner in all categories. Unfortunately, I ordered the damn thing three weeks ago and it's still not here. They are very back ordered. To their credit, they tell you they are back ordered up front.

Macworld's november issue looked at a range of car solutions and they found that all things considered the faux cassettes were better. The itrip wins the cool factor, but the cassettes give better real world service.

But then who wants a cassette adapter! They are so ugly and then they're even hard to use. I put the iTrip on my christmas list, so I can use it at night in my room and in my car, hope it has a good 10' broadcast...

Well, if it gets better sound quality, and you just want it for the car, that's what I'd go for. I have one, in fact... too bad my car's cassette deck doesn't work and my personal CD player's a piece of crap.
