Generic printserver for OS9, X and PC clients?

Hello everyone,
We have PC_XPP and MAC_OS_9_+_X clients that needs to be connected to a color printer server (I would like it to be a G4 400MHz running OS X.3) that will be directly connected to an OkiData color printer with a USB port and would be used as a printserver (IF POSSIBLE). Oki doesn't have a Printserver software for Mac and I didn't find a generic one on the net yet.
Is there a possibility to build it or do we have to setup a PC with Oki software as a printserver?
Note:
To print in IPP from OS 9 a user from annother Macforum (Techno-Mac) sent me this tool (Wich works fine):
http://ts-mac.web.cern.ch/TS-Mac/home/maclpr.html
But I need to manage and hold all the incoming printing jobs from the students and allow a power user to print selected jobs only.
Is there a way?
thank you
Wassif

For the driver, you might try Gimp-Print, which includes drivers for 14 different Oki printers and is relatively well put together. http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php3
Take the time to read through the FAQ, it'll make you feel a lot more confident about what you're doing.

As for the printer queue management, we'll need to setup some advanced options in Print Center that I am afraid I'm not too familiar with these ... Hopefully someone here can help you with this side of it.

Thank you ''symphonix'' for the Gimp link, it will help me for sure.

But for now, like you mentioned, it is the printer queue management that I need for those students print jobs. I feel that I'm hangging there.

If any one has a clue, here is my direct email:
