Get Info

Howdy
Where is the option to revert back to the old get info way (10.1)? I liked only one info window.

That does nothing on any of my systems.
Command-Option-I, on the other hand will bring up the old style Inspector window that updates when you click on another icon.

It really would be nice to have one method as default, and using command to toggle the other.

Thanks for the info. I wish there was an option someplace to turn it on or off. Because I usually right click and choose "get info".

At least it's still there

What are you talking about? That's how it is!

Command+I = Get Info (Multiple windows like OS 9)

Command+Option+I = Show Inspector (Single always on top window changes with selection)

Sorry, I meant that would be nice to be able to choose the default in prefs, and have a modifier for the other.

Yeah, I'd like that too, I'd also like to be able to create a folder with Command+N like it's been FOR THE PAST 19 YEARS!

No kidding! I actually was so annoyed with this I created 2 QuicKeys shortcuts to switch the keyboard shortcuts for New Finder Window (Command Shift N) with New Folder (Command N) so they are now:

New Finder Window (Command Shift N)
New Folder (Command N)

If you have QuicKeys it is pretty easy - make a new Menu Selection quickey for New Finder Window and New Folder and assigned opposite keyboard "triggers" (Finder only).

Pretty weird and sloppy, but it works! If you don't know Quickeys, they do have a demo at http://www.cesoft.com/ and it is far more useful than for just this kind of thing (though the OS 9 version was so much better!)
