Currently using a Dual 500 G4 with Radeon and DVD-ROM drive. Running OS X 10.13
I am using this machine for 'super heavy' Photoshop, Illustrator stuff.....'heavy' BodyPaint, Cinema stuff...... 'medium' After Effects stuff.........and 'light' Final Cut Pro stuff.
Generally I don't have too much complaint with this machine.
The reseller that I always deal with allow me to get a real stripped Dual Ghz G4 (no HD, no RAM), but with Radeon card (I don't like GeForce). Basically they base on Apple's pricing scheme on RAM and HD (both 40% off) to reduce the cost from the MSRP PLUS I can have another 6% OFF the total price. In other words. The saving is very hefty.
About RAM and HD....I have tons of spare RAM and HDs so it's not a big issue....
Now it comes to a big question. Even I sell my existing Dual 500 at the original stock config I still need to pay at least $2500+ CDN (I have to include tax) to get the Dual Gigger....
I am wondering....if it's worth it? Or totally not?
Advise????
