Gigabeat - no mac support at all?!

Okay so I've just bought one of those Toshiba 1GB gigabeat players, and it shows up in System Profiler under USB devices, but nothing on the desktop/Macintosh HD. Surely it'd show up as - at the very least! - a removable storage device? I know the iRivers do... Am I doing something wrong? Can I fix it and make it work?

Please help!
 
Also, does it come up in iTunes as a player? I know that many third party players appear in iTunes.
