gimp cursor problems

I am running the gimp along with OroborusX 0.8 preview 2. When I pick a tool all I can see is the standard arrow. I have searched the forums and it seems this problem is known, but the solution didn't jump out at me. One thread had something about updating XDarwin, but I installed everything from fink (apt-get actually) today, so it should be up to date, right? Thanks for any insight.

i had the same problem, just use something other than oroborusX. the gimp handles great with blackbox rootless

Hmmm.... that's the only solution, eh? I love OroborusX though. Too bad.

I found this, and it seems to solve the problem. The cursor isn't exactly like what it is in Linux, I see my arrow instead of a new cursor, but I can see the lines I draw with the crop tool etc, so it's functional enough.
