girls vs boys...

octane

I have issues, OK!
The tables are beginning to turn against the mens club that is on-line gaming.

The very idea that woman 'aren't welcome' in on-line gaming contests is just total madness, it really is.

It's my belief that non-contact sports should allow men to compete against woman. Tennis being an example along with snooker / pool, computer gaming, any automotive sport .. there's quite a list once you start to think about it.

I have to wonder why guys wouldn't want to play against a woman. Is it the fear of loosing to a woman? If I was a woman, I wouldn't know whether to take that as an insult or a compliment...

I agree 100%. My best friends are mostly girls, and I don't treat them any different than my few guy friends. And they like that :)

Just don't treat your significant other as you do your guy friends. Mine dislikes that, greatly. She wants to be treated as if she were my princess (which she is).

i think the fear of losing to a woman in "non-contact" sports is whats keeping it from happening. just look at the pga. while i would say that most of the men dont care if a woman plays, those few outspoken ones i think reallly tell the tale.

at the same time i think its necessary to keep separate leagues for most sports, including golf and tennis. while the occasional woman might be able to compete at the top regardless of sex, i think the physical nature of things will keep the majority of women from competing.

that is, serena might be able to whip some of the guys, but kornukova wouldn't have much of a chance. same in golf. just the fact that the guys have a muscle advantage (typically) gives them a sharp edge.

now things like pool & darts which dont rely so heavily on being stronger/faster, there isn't much of an argument to keep seperate leagues. boo-ya!

my take.

and before anyone makes more blanket statements about how to treat your SO, there is no way to generalize how to treat a person. ever. duh.

Yes.

When I started this thread, I got that sudden prickly feeling that it was going to go that way.

I'd rather not know too much about the intimacies of other people's relationships .. mine is enough, thanks!..

I don't mind losing from a girl/woman to any kind of a game... Computer based or not! The same of course goes for boys/men... However, if I lose in a game by a very tiny margin (and/or luck of my opponent's side) then I might feel down! But definitely, competition enables me, to give my best self regardless of my adversary's sex :D

And, yes, in some games, I've lost/losing from girls too :)
