hi gurus !
Our lab experiences a hard but unclear problem with printing.
We are 95% mac and are with about 100-150 machines for 4 HP laserjet (2100 2200).
Until recently, when most of us are in the lab, the printers start to block in queue and require hard reset to be again available.
The only solution we found so far was to disable appletalk in the web configuration page of the printer and restrict to IP printing. This worked for a while but even like this, we progressively fell back into problem. It looks like we have reached a critical mass of transmissions in our network !
Did any of you experience the same ? What was the option ? We cannot afford buying more printers, and really, the printing volume is not exageratly high, only the ethernet trafffic could be called heavy (many small packets - web browsing mostly).
Would creating intranet zones - subnet help? (we have only one main 255,255,255,192 zone)
Thanks for any advice
Stephane
