Good place to find information on artists?

I'm doing a paper in my Art Class, and it's supposed to be on two different paintings and artists. Well anyway i can't seem to find out any information on the artists or the paintings using Google, is there any search engine or good website to look for them at? It's on "American Artists"

Sure- A great way to search for anything is with A9 search ( www.a9.com )

As for looking up artists, try http://www.askart.com/

the A9 helped a little bit, but the AskArt you had to pay for and well i think my college has gotten enough of my money ::ha::

Sorry about that last site- must have only had one eye open when I was checking it out. As for A9, I use it whenever I'm researching anything serious that's not on the usual web database. (Either that or Japanese Yahoo lol)
