Hi,

I'm looking for a graphics editing package for MacOS.

I don't need adobe photoshop, just something like PaintShopPro on the PC.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Mark

There is Adobe Photoshop elements, which is the cut down version of Photoshop, that's meant to be a rival to applications like PaintShopPro. Before you try that, you might want to have a look at GraphicConverter which is a very good image editing tool, and Seashore which is based on GIMP and is free.

Why not get Gimp itself? It is a nice graphics program. It has a lot more drawing tools than Seashore does. Granted, it does need X11, but that is not hard to install and the ability to use additional tools that require it is worth it.

GIMP isn't exactly the most user friendly application in the world. That, and the fact that X11 doesn't integrate nicely into OS X is also another reason for choosing Seashore. If you really do need to use all the features in GIMP, do install and use it. For most basic image editing needs, Seashore does fine.

Seashore looks like crap. Go with GraphicConverter.

You dont need to black-name the programs. it important to give many options for the user. Yes, you are entitled to your opinion but black-naming program will made you look like a bad person

The user has the options. I am giving my opinion on which is better. If you think that my preference for GraphicConverter over Seashore makes me look bad, then that is a risk that I am willing to take.

You can use ANY PowerPC application on the INTEL, just may run a taddd bit slower. im running all my powerpc apps on my macbook, and they run fine with no problems at all
