well, after updating to 10.1.3 i decided to retry my graphire2 mouse for some reason. and lo and behold it works like a regular mouse. it doesn't jump like the pen but it works quickly and easily. has anybody else tried it or did i just hit a lucky button somewhere or something?
good question Scott. i wouldn't have known untill i bought this thing just all that it does. in fact i let sit in the box for about 3 weeks before i even installed it.
so the Wacom Graphire2 is at first appearance a graphics pad - you get the pen and you can draw or write your signiture and stuff like that. but it also replaces your mouse. it comes with a 2 button scroll wheel mouse as well as the pen. both pen and mouse work as a mouse. the pen has the cool feature of junping strait to wherever you put it down - the area on the pad being relationally correlated with specific areas on the screen. eg.- i hit back button and then pick up the pen and move directly to the scroll handle. i do not have to drag the cursor from one area to another.
before the update, the real mouse moved so slow and took such short advances that using it was worthless. now it moves at the speed and distance of the original mouse. the scroll wheel is great for use with this site and several others. so now i can switch between pen and mouse when i please for maximum convienience in working.
this thing is one of the best investments i have made to enhance my computer.
