Grey monitor after restart...

My computer is a Powermac G4, with macosx 10.2 (jag), and OS 9.2. I am using a Panasonic PanaSync E70i monitor.

After every restart the monitor turns up with 256 greytones (no color). This happens only in macosx 10.0 (jag), and not in OS 9.2.
 
Have you tried to re calibrate in the System Preferences (light switch) ?
