Gyration GO 2.4 cordless mouse

I just got a Gyration GO 2.4 cordless mouse. The mouse works fine just by plugging in the usb receiver and hitting connect. However, the programmable buttons don't work. The first button does nothing and the second dims my display and the third brightens the display. All documentation says that the buttons are not supported, but I figured that if they will dim or brighten the screen they must have some functionality. Does anyone know if there is any updated support for this type mouse for mac?
