hard drive swap

i have imac 450 mghz an a imac 400mghz i knocked the 450mgz an after 10 mins when it warms up the screen goes purple but the drive works fine thru ext monitor.
iwant to swap the hard drives over as 450 has a dvd player on it too an a bigger hd is this possible an if so how.
ive heard of the electric charge in it can kill me will this affect changin the drives over or do i need pro help.

The CRT is well protected on that model, so you should be fine. Just don't take off anymore parts once you get to the motherboard. Follow this guide:

will that bring the 450mghz over or will it jus be the hard drive that gets swapped
because i wanted the faster speed for obvious reasons.
