I have a 4 year old powerbook G4 Ti 550ghz running on OSX 10.2.8 and I recently purchased a new 60GB hard drive and installed it and when I went to restart I got the flashing folder with the question mark so I restarted off of the install disk and ran dik utility. It recognized the hard drive so I erased and reformatted it with all zeroes. After about an hour it finished and automatically went to the install disk again. From that point it froze with the spinning ball. So I tried to restart again from the CD holding down the "C" key and the cd drive won't work at all and now all of a sudden I get no startup chime either. It goes straight to the flashing folder. I need help. I have been working on macs for years but I am still a novice when it comes to techie language. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am so depressed right now. Thanks for any help.
