Has anyone used 'System Optimizer' with Jaguar?

I've heard conflicting reports about its efficacy. So, anyone who's actually used (or is using) SO with 10.2, please weigh in with your report.

- Does it actually improve system speed/responsiveness?

- Any particular improvements, or just overall?

- How about Internet aspects: faster page loading, etc.?

- Negatives: from 'it doesn't do anything' to 'it destroyed my hard drive.'

Thanks in advance for your help! I look forward to reading your responses.

IIRC, that's shareware. Between MacJanitor (free) and Norton Speed Disk (never Disk Doctor!) you can get the same results. There is no need to specifically "optimize" Jaguar. Even the author of XOptimizer(Bombich)(free) makes this statement. Software like MacJanitor should be used only if your Hard Drive is shut down or put to sleep at night. Do some searches for "optimize", "utilities", and "defrag" for a better answer.
