Get an insider's look at the new iMac: iMac Service Manual Draft. That's a PDF file, by the way. Close to 6MB. It has pictures, instructions, specifications, etc. It even tells you how to upgrade the RAM on the logic board inside the sphere. And, yes, there IS a fan.

Perhaps not. I wouldn't actually put it IN a studio booth, for instance.
Don't worry, you should be able to get some good deals on the PowerMacs and Cubes now the new iMac is out. Or cut the shell off, rip out the fan and stick in a massive heat-sink - then watch Apple's design studios guys cringe.
PS I think cutting the thing open and welding in a heat sink MIGHT, PERHAPS void the warranty, he he he ...
