Headless iMacs?

I think it would be a great idea to use a headless iMac design in the next redesign of the iMac. Customers should be able to attach any screen size available when ordering an iMac. The reasons being economical and to bring more choice to consumers.

For example, some small businesses will want buy iMacs with the fastest processor available, but most small businesses don't necessarily need those 20-inch screens to go with all that power. On the flip side, some consumers only need low-end iMacs, but with BIG screens for working with iMovie and iPhoto and watching DVD movies and TV on their Mac. ::alien::

Bringing more choice and customizability to consumers means moving further away from those cultic business practices that you guys are so infamous for, but thankfully have already been moving further and further away from in the recent past. :D

Just do it, Apple! You won't regret it. ::love::

And how about an expansion bar for dual monitors:

:p

What you're suggesting is a Desktop machine, like a G4 or G5. Wow, Apple aready thought of that.

No, just the ability to customize the screen size on the iMac. "Headless" really has no meaning here. :p

We've had the G4 cube, now introducing ... the G4 Dome!

Or better yet, the G5 Dome!

Rumors are running rampant that the iMac will get G5 processors soon, possibly at MWSF! ::angel::

LOL! Fun stuff. :)

How about a headless iMac like the first image? And, of course, I've attached my old avatar, the iMac hybrid.

BTW, the previous images were all made in Photoshop, not in a chop shop. So rest assured: no iMacs were harmed in the making of these images.

I like Tommy's, though I'd be afraid of the support arm coming undone. I'm at work so I can't dupe up a visual on it (stupid peecee), but how about taking that idea and melding a laptop with it?
You make the smaller screen a 12'' that detaches and adds on to your 'Book. Add some velcro to slap the iPod onto it and you have a customized home entertainment center. :D

What about two monitors on a kind of rotatable stand, facing opposite directions? That way, you and someone facing you could see the same thing.

Or, you and the wall. Maybe not.

How about if Apple just offered one iMac with one size screen? Then every 18 months or so, then bump the screen up? If you want smaller, you opt for a laptop, if you want bigger, you order a tower.
And you can always find a beige, a gumdrop iMac, emac and Cube too.
Do that Apple, please. ;)

I think Apple should just offer iMacs with no monitor and no video-out. I spend too much time staring at screens, anyway. Might as well get rid of it.
