For some reason the HP printer drivers did not show up on my software update (everything else ddi). Does anyone know of a way for me to get them?
 
1st - did you scroll down the list? they are at bottom of list and do not show up at first glance.

second, apple says additional printers are available at www.apple.com/macosx/ so you might try there after rechecking your software update. hope this helps.
 
Yes, I tried to scroll down the list because I was looking for hte HP print drivers specifically. Also, I installed the other print drivers and now when I go to software update it tells me that all of my software is up to date.

I notived that the print center has listings for Epson AppleTalk, FireWire and USB in addition to the usual suspects. I am desperately waiting for AppleTalk support from HP....

In any case, when I connect my HP printer to my USB port the printer gets automatically installed. The version number reported is 1.2. What version number do you (or anyone) have after the update?

I went to the HP web site, the new driver is v1.2a. Their web site also says that if you have version 1.2 you do not need the update (I downloaded it anyway).

Sadly, no AppleTalk support yet. :(
