Help? - Delayed response from Wacom tablet

I'm getting a small but very noticeable delay using my Wacom Intuos 2 A5 tablet, using 10.3.4 and 4.7.9-2 driver for the tablet.

Is anybody else having similar trouble, and does anybody know how to sort it out?

It's connected in USB (slot 1) on the back of the machine ... it's bus powered and doesn't work if connected through the keyboard.
 
Next question: Did this start after the latest driver installation?

After the 10.3.4 update, did you repair permissions with Disk utility?
 
I was having the problem using 10.3.3 before the last update, and I've already repaired the disk permissions (using disk utility on the installer CD, rather than the version on the boot drive) to try and get it to work correctly... shrug.

Any other ideas?
 
I tried everything that was suggested, I finally got a new stylus and the delay problems are gone. You may be able to get away just by changing the tip. I hope this helps.
