Help... Enter Key Came Out!

The Lone Deranger
On my aluminum keyboard on the number pad, the enter key popped out and I have no idea how to hook it back on. It's really bugging me, is my keyboard permanently damaged now??

Usually there's a way to get it back in, but it's a pain in the fanny. If you're still having trouble, just take it to the Apple Store and see if they can get it back in there. Heck, you never know...they might just replace the keyboard for you at no cost. It's possible.

See my post at the macosxhints forum.

That applies to a PowerBook keyboard but I'd bet that the Aluminum keyboards are much the same. I have an Aluminum keyboard but so far haven't had to reattach a keycap.

okay thanks. the problem was that the white layer under the keycap flew off causing the key to not attach. Everything is fine now ... phew!

Yah, those are a pain. That is why I hate that Apple made the new keyboards like laptop keyboards, they break so easily and I have already had two keys break off. I definitely prefer the older keyboards, everything about them is nicer.
