Help!!!!! From Tiger to Panther downgrade

OK i just got a 2.3 dual and it came with Tiger in it. I ran into all sorts of problems with AU apps so i went back to Panther. I did a full erase and reinstalled Panther. Now I cant burn CD's. I have the superdrive in my G5 but it wont burn! In the "About this MAC" folder it says

Burning: Not supported under the ATA and pioneer drive

Its really weird. Im using the Pioneer DWR-109 burner (The superdrive). Maybe I need to install drivers or something??

Any sugggestions?

Well, since you are going from Tiger to Panther with a brand spankin' new Mac, I would guess that the new Superdrive, which is Dual Layer, is NOT supported in Panther, and is in Tiger. I may stand corrected on this.

I would suggest a little gem of a program called patchburn, google it, it should allow you to patch it up to allow you to burn.
