HELP HELP no networkconfiguration

hey ppl,

i have a seriouse problem here with an ibook on osx 10.2.6.

a buddy of mine tryed to set up an airport card, and lost all configurations.

i choose systempreferences/network/ethernet. in the configuration pan is only a choice for PPP and manual. even when i choos manual i am not able to enter an supnet mask or an routeradress because the ibook only accepts PPP-server...

where is the problem and how could i get over it. there are no chances to choose DHCP or anything ...

help woudl be sooooo cool guys

ok ppl - i got that damn biatch working.

if it happens to you just do the same as following information:

my Network Pref Pane & all network settings also got totally corrupted. Here's how to fix them:
1) in terminal, su to root
2) delete the following three files:
/var/db/NetworkInterfaces.xml
/var/db/SystemConfiguration/preferences.xml
/var/db/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.airport.preferences.xml
