Help in Final Cut Pro

Hi,

I am editing some footage in FCP and want to increase the scale of my footage, i.e. be zoomed in on it, but I want it to be smaller then the size of the screen (i.e. so there is black around it) if this makes any sense. I can increase the scale all right, but I don't know what to do next to then reduce the size of the zoomed-in image, as in the past I have done this by reducing the scale.

If someone could help me with this that would be fantastic,

Cheers

What you need to do is to scale it up using the motion tab to whatever size you want. Then nest the clip by selecting it and pressing option+C. Then you can hold option and double click on the newly nested clip and you should be able to adjust your scale again, this time making it smaller while still keeping the image zoomed in.

Let me know if this makes sense.
