Hi all, kind people...
I have an iBook (dual usb, G3600 DVD 128Meg of ram). I have added a 256 Mb ram expansion (So-dimm Pc100) but I see only a total of 256 Mb of RAM (128 on board and half of the expansion).
No firmware update is needed or available from apple (the official document shows that only the first tIbook need firmware update to use 256Mb expansions and I have tried it but OS9 says that I don't need tha update).
I have no idea...

Thank You

The first thing to check would be the Apple System Profiler, located in the Applications/Utilities directory. Take a look at the detailed info under Memory Overview, which is located on the System Profile tab. If anything is amiss, that should make it a little more obvious. Hopefully you didn't get sold a mislabeled module... Is there a sticker on the RAM confirming its size?

Apple System Profiler says: 128 Built-in and 128 expansion.
I hope that's a RAM problem and not an iBook problem...

Bye
