OK folks... i'm not some geekie programmer, just a old-timer Mac-lover whois thinking of bringing my old Macintosh 512K (yeah..you know) to the web.
What i mean is trying to install on it a new OS and browser(netscape 1.0??) to surf the web.
Now i don't know IF such is possible BUt of there are any smart Mac-ers outthere who got some solutions idea's etc etc.. Please let me know and maybe we can mean something for each other.

Thanks

The fat mac had neither hard drive, nor scsi, nor (I believe) expansion slot. This alone will limit you to VERY old Mac OS's, such as those that fit on a floppy.

Ok..that said: I have ofcourse the floppy's of the system wich came when i bought it in the 80's.
So....what's next and how and what as in: What do i need and where can i get it, to get it online? Or is that totally out of the question because of.....

One indispensible thing you'll need to get it on the web is TCP/IP drivers (also called a TCPIP "stack".) I have no idea if any such stack is available for a fat mac, but that'd be a good place to start looking.

Try Jagshouse.com....they have everything you ever wanted to know about anything you want to do with your low-end Mac.

Here's a link specifically for what you're looking for.

Try also Low End Mac.

Which model PowerBook is that??? :)

It looks like a powerbook 170, but those colors -- it reminds me of an old beater car, repaired with junkyard parts.
