Help! OS X Panther Disc stuck!

I was trying to figure out how to do an Archive&install and it told me to restart my comp. So i did and its just a blank grey mac screen with the apple in the middle. My computer was going nuts and i cant get the CD out or do anything with my computer. I'm using a PowerPC G5.

Also, would some one be kind enough to run me through the Archive&install process, i need to Go from OS X 10.4.8 to 10.4.7
