Well i have a friend who lives 2 blocks away from me. Now i want to connect my mac with jaguar to his pc running xp. Please help me out really need to exchange some big files between us. Please also try to explain in detail not too good at this kinda stuff. if it helps mac is under dsl and pc is cable.

Howdy
Here is what i did at work. It was over the network but it should still work. Go into Sharing in the System Pref's and turn on Windows File sharing. Then read the little explination that shows up when you start it up. Also i had to create a user with the exact same name as his log in on his windows machine.

enable ftp on your machine and create him a user. Have him FTP to your machine by typing "ftp://'username':'password'@yourIP" into internet explorer.
Have him switch to your home directory and drop it in your drop box. This will automaticaly change the owner to you, so you will avoid permissions problems.
