Help with Help

Help Viewer is wigging out on me: In Safari it will open, but close as soon as I start a search. In Finder, it will open but close immediately after appearing. Since I would normally use the Help Viewer to try to figure this out, I guess I'm turning to the community. Any help at all would be much appreciated.

Try trashing these preference files;

com.apple.help.plist
com.apple.helpui.plist
com.apple.helpviewer.plist

Located here;

user>Library>Preferences

Drag them to the trash and restart and try Help.

And use 'search' before opening a new thread about a problem that is well-known and handled (and sure enough, bobw's solution is the one that works).
