okay, i'm not really sure if this is in the right place or not (and im sorry if it's not) but im kinda lost with everything at the moment.

ok--heres my problem..and im hoping someone can help (?)

I tried installing Safari 4.0.3 and it won't let me finish the installment as it says 'You cannot install Safari on this volume. This update requires Mac OS X 10.5.7 or newer'.
So, I downloaded Mac OS X 10.5.7 but it again wont let me select the destination as it says 'You cannot install Mac OS X Update on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update.'

I have no idea what this means and if I have something on my comp that should be changed to let me instal these.

please and thankkk you,
annie :)

They actually mean 10.5.8, probably. Just let Software Update handle everything. You don't need to install Safari or the system update by hand.

If nothing works, do this:

Download the Combo Updater for 10.5.8 from Apple. (Search for "10.5.8 combo" on apple.com.) Install this. (Even if your system is already on 10.5.8.) Then let Software Update install the newest security update, if there is one. Software Update should now also offer Safari 4.0.3, btw.

If Safari, after all this, is _not_ 4.0.3, re-download the Safari 4.0.3 installer and try to install it again.
