Ok so I'm not very good with computers and I swear I'll let the professionals deal with it in the future. My computer has been going really slowly and crashed in iphoto today so I decided to have a look online and see how I could clean it up a bit. I came across the x lab site that said that you could:
Using your Admin account, you can execute all three maintenance scripts at once, as follows:
1. Launch Terminal, in the Computer > Mac OS X > Applications > Utilities folder.
2. At the prompt, type the following, exactly as written:
1. sudo periodic daily weekly monthly
3. Press Return.
4. Type your Admin password when prompted, then press Return.
So I did that but when the password came up it didn't need me to enter anything, I'm not sure if anythings happened or not because it just looks the same except it has said a few scarey things such as:
" We trust you have recieved the usual lecture from the local system administrator. It usually boils down to these two things: 1. Respect the privacy of others. 2. think before you type.
I should also add that when I go to close the window it says that if I do that it will terminate the processes inside it: login, tcsh, sudo
Obviously I left the window open in fear of stuffing up my computer.
have I stuffed it? What do I do now?
Thank you a million times for helping me.
